Relationship Explorer
This feature is launched via the Search (Ctrl + K) in the Workspace. Search for a Customer or Supplier to launch the Relationship Explorer. Once a Customer or Supplier has been selected, this places that record 'as the Hub' in the Relationship Explorer. All relationships directly relating to to the hub are shown.
The Hub Selection will search on the following field values in Ostendo
- Name
- Web Domain Name
- Phone Number
Up to 25 records will be returned. If the record has not been returned in the List, be more specific about the searching values.
In the Case of a Customer being the Hub, the direct relationships could be:
- Contacts
- Sales Orders
- Deliveries
- Job Orders
- Assembly Orders
- Customer Assets
- Projects
- Invoices
- Payments
- Deposits
Supplier Hub direct Relationships could be
- Contacts
- Purchase Orders
- Purchase Receipts
- Supplier Invoices
- Purchase Shipments
Using the Relationship Explorer:
- From within the Workspace press the Search option or (Ctrl +K) to launch the Search Screen. The Search option offers two areas of searching
- Select a Customer or Supplier to launch the Relationship Explorer
- Start typing the Customer or Supplier Name, Domain Name or phone Number to search on to select the 'Hub'

Once the Hub has been selected, all relationships for that hub are displayed in a graphical format. Double clicking on a relationship will place that relationship in the Centre of the screen and show all other relationships relating to that. In essence you are drilling down on each relationship as required. Where there are too many occurrences of a relationship to show all. eg: Multiple invoices will be shown as a colour coded object with a dashed border.
- This is the 'Hub' record. ie: 'centre of all the Relationships shown
- All linked Contacts a displayed along with a count of how many
- Any Linked Customer Assets
- Any Sales Orders for this Customer
- Any Job Orders for this Customer
- Any Invoices for this Customer
- This example shows there are 3 more invoices linked to this customer other than those already shown. Single click on this object will reveal a list of all invoices in the Right hand panel
- Any Customer Deposits
- Any Relationships that are overdue eg: are shown with a Warning Triangle icon
- Further Relationships that are 'one step removed' from the displayed relationships are shown here. eg: Deliveries raised from a Sales Order, Assembly Orders raised from a SO or Job. You may drill down on these to reveal them
- The Right hand panel shows details of the Relationship you are positioned on at the time.
- Clicking on the appropriate 'Open....' button will launch the specific Ostendo screen for that record
- You may simplify the types of relationships displayed by Filtering them out

- Press the Filters option to filter out Types of Relationships. Here you can also select All Records, Last 90 days open, or Open Only irrespective of date.
- Click on the Relationship to either exclude or Include
- A Filter summary is displayed at the top right hand corner of the Explorer

Timeline View:
At any point you may select the Timeline option at the top of the Relationship Explorer.

This Timeline graphically shows all current Orders and Transactions that are overdue. 'Today' is represented with a red vertical dotted line. NB: The Timeline will only show those records you are currently Filtering on.
- Optionally select the Timeline point from now back 3mths, 6mths etc..
- This shows the type of Relationship
- Warning Icons indicate a transaction is overdue ie: beyond its Due Date or Required Date.
- Indicates the Due Date or Required Date into the future for the Order or transaction

The Model View:

This view shows a summary of all Relationships for the selected Hub. Selecting any of these Relationships (by clicking on each) will display a list of current Relationships for that Relationship Type in the Right hand Panel. Double clicking on a record in the Right Panel will move you back to the Explore view and change that record to become the Centre of the Hub.
