Cloud Migration Utilities

File -> System Configuration -> Cloud Migration Utilities

This option is only to be used if the site is migrating from  Update 242 to the Continuum Edition

This screen allows you to perform a mass migration of Report file layouts (fr3 files) and / or Graphical View files from individual files directly into the Continuum Database where there will be stored.

Migrate Report Files: This will migrate all Custom Forms (fr3 files) within the existing \Ostendo\Reports Folder

Migrate Graphical View Files: This will migrate Workflows, Datascreens, touchpad screens from the existing \Ostendo folder or path according to how they are pathed in Ostendo

Migrate Linked Documents (Cloud DB Only): This option will migrate all Documents from their current pathing to the Cloud Server.

Migrate Linked Images (Cloud DB Only): This option will migrate all Images from their current pathing to the Cloud Server.

Migrate Report Files:

This process can only be performed after the database has been upgraded to a Continuum Edition version.

  • In the existing Update 242 environment your Custom reports specific to the database are held in a folder path similar to this

C:\Ostendo\Reports\Default (where Default is the Default Company)

or

C:\Ostendo\Reports\ABC_Live (where 'ABC_Live' is the Company ID relating to the database)

Irrespective of the folder naming convention you must

  • Create a Folder in your 'local' Ostendo Continuum Folder called 'Reports' on your local machine (irrespective of where the database is residing)
  • Copy the 'contents' (fr3 files only) from the Folder of the company containing the Custom fr3 layouts to the Reports folder you created on your local drive
  • Tick the option to Migrate Reports and Press OK to Migrate the Reports

It should be noted that only fr3 files directly associated with Report Names will be imported. Any separate fr3 files will need to be manually imported into the database using the Report Layouts option (Import->.fr3 files)

Migrate Graphical View Files:

This process can only be performed after the database has been upgraded to a Continuum Edition version.

  • In the existing Update 242 environment your Graphical Workflows maybe held in the Ostendo folder or even in other folders eg: C:\Ostendo\Workflows

Irrespective of the folder naming convention you must  have the same folder structure setup in your Ostendo Continuum folder on your local machine to allow you to migrate all relevant Graphical files (including workflows)

  • On your local machine copy all Graphical files from the Ostendo 242 environment to you Ostendo Continuum folder on your local drive
  • Any Graphical files stored in the Ostendo 242 environment under specific folders must exist in the same folder structure with the Ostendo Continuum folder.
    • eg: If custom Workflows were stored in a folder C:\Ostendo\Workflows then the 'Workflows' folder (containing these files) must be located in C:\Ostendo Continuum\Workflows\
    • if the standard workflow files were stored in the C:\Ostendo folder, then these files need to be copied to the C:\Ostendo Continuum\ folder

This routine allows you to perform a mass import. If some files are missed, these can be individually imported later via the Graphical Views Add or Import Option

Important:

Handling Workflows with  {appath} references

  • If any user workflows are configured with {Appath} paths, a warning message will be displayed

  • If this message appears, it means the workflows need to be copied into your local Ostendo Continuum Folder. If you haven't done this yet, select 'No', copy the workflows, and then repeat this process
