Report Layouts
File -> Reporting Configuration -> Report Layouts
All Report layout files (.fr3) are now stored directly within the database. This screen is used to manage Report Layout Files (only).
Apart from the initial Migration of all Custom Reports into the database from Update 242 using the the Cloud Migration Utilities option to Migrate Report Files, this Report Layouts screen will allow you to either:
- Extract a report Layout (only) where the layout is already stored in a Continuum Report .dat file
or
- Import any individual .fr3 layout files that are not linked directly to Forms from within the Report & View Developer
or
- Add a new layout by copying an existing Company Level layout.
Extracting a Report Layout from a Continuum (.dat) file:
In this example the Company Level Assembly Order has already been initially imported via the Cloud Migration Utilities option.
- Drop down the 'Tools' option and select 'Import'

- Browse and select the .dat file and Press the 'Open' button
- Provide a unique name to this Layout when prompted or leave it as the default named Company level
- The Report Layout 'Only' will be imported into the Database.
- Optional - After the Layout has been Imported, you may type in a Category associated with that report. This Category allows the user to lookup all Layouts available to the report when it is being run.

Import a Layout from a .fr3 file
- Drop down the 'Tools' option and select 'Import (.fr3)'

- Browse and select the .fr3 file and Press the 'Open' button
- A Report Layout screen will be displayed allowing you to type in a Description for this report. You will also be prompted to associate this layout with an existing Report Name, then press 'OK'

- The Report Layout will be imported into the Database.
- Optional - After the Layout has been Imported, you may type in a Category associated with that report. This Category allows the user to lookup all Layouts available to the report when it is being run.

Creating a new Layout file from an Existing layout
Only occasions the you may want to create a new layout version that is a copy of an existing version.
- Press the 'Add' button to create a new layout


In this case we will create a new Layout by copying the "Assy Order V3" Layout

- Browse to the Layout you wish to copy from and then type in a new Layout Description, then press 'OK'

- A new layout is then created and maybe modified via the Report and View developer

Modifying a Report Layout that is not Linked to the Report
- Launch the Report and View Developer
- Select the Report you wish to Modify
- Press the Edit button to launch the Editor. If multiple Layouts existing for the same Report Name you will be prompted to select the appropriate Layout.

- Edit the Layout as usual
Process to Select different Report Layouts when running a Report
When the user runs the Report the Default Layout (set in the Report & View Developer) will be shown as the "Report Layout file to be used". However the User can browse to other versions of the layout that have been imported and select that accordingly.
