Report Output Options


Whenever a report is run you are presented with a simple panel containing the following three options:

Screen - View on Screen

•

Print - Send to Printer

•

Email - Email with this report attached. This will generate the report as a ‘pdf file and launch the Ostendo emailing screen (Refer Emailing Report and Forms)

Report Layout file to be used - This defaults to the report layout linked to the report that was selected.

 


Screen  The report will be returned to the screen where you have the following options from the top toolbar:



  1. Re-display the Report Parameters (only available for some reports where parameters are entered prior to running the report)
  2. Send to Printer
  3. Save to an fp3 format (Requires the Archive Viewer to open this type of file)
  4. Save the output to one of the following formats:
    • Prepared Report (fp3)
    • Adobe PDF file
    • HTML file
    • xlsx file
    • txt file
    • jpg file
    • rtf file
    • csv file
  1. Shortcut to Output to PDF (Adobe)
  2. Find Text within the displayed report
  3. Percentage display size. and Zoom In and Out. This percentage will always default to a percentage that will display the 'Whole Page'
  4. Display in Full screen mode
  5. Display Thumbnails for each page
  6. Page Number and Advance forward and back options
  7. Close down the Screen preview



Emailing Reports and Forms (eg: Invoices etc..)


Ostendo uses its own Email application rather than utilising third party applications. 


HTTPS vs TCP/IP:

When emailing documents from Ostendo environments running an HTTPS protocol, an embedded link will be included in the email (rather than simply attaching a file). This means the recipient simply clicks on this link to open the file automatically via their browser allowing them to Print and/or download the PDF file. Emails could potentially contain multiple links. Any  forms that have Linked Documents attached will also be embedded in the email as Links.


When emailing Reports, Forms and Linked Documents from Ostendo environments running an TCP/IP protocol, physical PDF files are attached to the email, no links are included.


Email Signatures:


The email signature is determined by the Signature selection, either User (default setting) or Site Signature.
